Ref 2316 2 bedroomed Detached Villa
Serenity Villa,
Hello Julie and Andy
Thank you for sharing your lovely villa with us for 3 weeks of total relaxation in August/September. The pickup from the airport arranged by yourselves with Dalyan Select was faultless and to arrive in the dark to a wonderful silence was something we have not experienced for 12 months.
The welcome pack was excellent and all the other little touches made us feel that we were definitely in someone’s home and it was a home they took pride in.
Didn’t need an alarm as we had forgotten that daily prayers start early and the faithfull like to be at prayer at 5.30am. We didn’t mind at all as it gave us a longer day to enjoy the sun. And sun is what we got and lots of it. This is the first holiday that Del has stood up to his armpits in a swimming pool whilst reading his Kindle.
We did worry about being six kilometres outside Dalyan. Not a problem, up to the end of thelane, start walking toward the town but keep an eye behind for the Dolmus. For 5lira, they will take you virtually anywhere.
The villa is in a small village and what surprised us was the friendliness of the locals and although we did not share the same language, the smile and the greeting from each person was really warm and we even had young people giving up their seats on the Dolmus for us.
The local supermarket kept us equipped with essentials which we were able to supplement with a couple of trips into the Dalyan stores.
Dalyan itself is a great place with some really outstanding restaurants and in one case where Linda felt there was too much salt in her Padthai, the restaurant owner removed it from the bill which did impress us both.
We both work hard during the year running our own business and the villa Serenity was just what we needed for a relaxing holiday doing just enough, by the pool, on the beach, on the river, dining out and a little shopping. Half way through the second week, we both agreed that our brains were empty of work thoughts and the only thoughts were, “Shall we stay by the pool?”,”Shall we lay on the beach?” “Which restaurant shall we try tonight?” Now that what we call a holiday.
Once again, thank you Julie and Andy, we love the villa, its location, its facilities and a sense of belonging after a few days.
As a small aside, we were so impressed with the window blinds, we are ordering them for our own house, as we have found a stockist in the Midlands.
Looking forward to our next holiday in Turkey.
